1924 Crescent Ice Cream Hanbury Baseball Overview

In 1923 and 1924, Crescent Ice Cream created a few hockey card sets for local teams. But they also produced a similar set for a local baseball squad as well.

In 1924, Crescent Ice Cream teamed up with the local Hanbury baseball team for a special promotion. With a 14-card set, Crescent Ice Cream printed pictures of players on the team, which was the championship squad of the Terminal City League for three years running from 1921 through 1923. They were also deemed City Champions in 1921 and 1922.

Fronts of the cards featured pictures of the players in an oval shape frame along with their name. The back included information about the Hanbury baseball team and the slogan that while they lead in baseball, Crescent Ice Cream leads in ‘Real Good Cream.’ The fronts and backs also included a card number, helping collectors to keep track of their progress in accumulating the set.
