1915 D303 General Baking Overview

D303 General Baking Back.jpgd303-barryThe 1915 D303 General Baking set is a standard-sized caramel card issue from the era. The American Card Catalog noted it was ‘small as E90.’

The set is also similar to another E-Card issue in that the fronts of the cards are the same as those found in the E106 set. Backs, however, are different. The cards state that they are with ‘Compliments of General Baking Company’ and were available until September 1st. The cards were packaged with the company’s Star Bread, French Bread, and Little General Bread products.

These cards are also nearly identical to the D303 Mothers’ Bread set. But like the E106 cards, the D303 General Baking cards have different backs than those, too.

The set was previously thought of as being a 1914 issue. However, it has been proven to be almost certainly a 1915 set.

1915 D303 General Baking Checklist

Combined, SGC and PSA pop reports have graded all or nearly every card in the set.

Note that two cards reported on other checklists (Bescher New York and Smith) have not been confirmed by me. I have added them here with an asterisk but it is unclear if they were Mother’s Bread or General Baking cards (or both).
