1928 Spanish Boxing Playing Cards Set Overview
Little is currently known about this unique set, which includes 48 cards. Even here, a proper title has not been yet identified as the manufacturer or distributor is presently unknown.
From Spain, it is similar to the slightly more popular 1928 Cine Manual set of playing cards in terms of style. It includes a total of 12 different cards across four playing card suits, as identified below in the checklist.
Backs include boxing lessons and blank space, which could presumably be used for an advertiser or sponsor information.
Pictured here are eight of the 12 cards from the Boxing Gloves ‘suit.’
Note that the sizes of these cards vary a bit. The cards measure 3 1/2 high but the widths can vary between 2 1/8″, 2 3/16″, and 2 1/4″.
