1924 Cope’s Lawn Tennis Strokes Overview
This set features a total of 25 tennis cards and was distributed by international tobacco company Cope Brothers. Specifically, the set highlights the different strokes used in tennis play. The set was similar to a tennis strokes set released by another international tobacco company, Sarony, the year before.
Pictures of players featured were black and white. The Lawn Tennis Strokes name was printed at the top and, a bit different from other tobacco sets, the tobacco company had its name on the front, along with the name of the player and the stroke shown.
Cards were distributed with Cope’s High Card Flake and Escudo Navy de Luxe pipe tobacco products. The set includes cards of both men and women players. In addition, some players are featured more than once.
