E136 Home Run Kisses Overview

E136 Home Run Kisses BackE136The E136 Collins-McCarthy Home Run Kisses set included a player image, name, and team on the front along with the “Home Run Kisses” name, all inside of a decorative frame. The cards have a sepia tone.

Backs mentioned that consumers should save these cards for valuable premiums, which would be announced at a later date. The list of prizes was to be issued on July 15, 1912.

While there are a few stars here, the set is comprised largely of lesser names/minor league players from the Pacific Coast League. One exception to that is Hall of Famer Dave Bancroft, who played in the league but went on to a stellar career in the majors.

Collins-McCarthy also produced another set five years later that is identified as E135.

E136 Home Run Kisses Checklist

The cards are scarce. To date, SGC has graded only a couple hundred of these.

While I have verified almost all of these, ones recognized in most checklists but that I have not yet seen include Ables, Carlisle, Leverencz, Metzger, O’Rourke, and Parkins.
