D359 Williams Baking Overview
The 1911 D359 Williams Baking Philadelphia Athletics set parallels the rare T208 Cullivan’s Fireside issue. Featured were the 1910 world champion Philadelphia A’s. Rochester Baking also has a D359 issue as they distributed the same set of cards with a different back.
Fronts featured color images of the players while the bottoms include their name and the Athletics team name. Across the top of the front of the cards is “World’s Champions 1910.”
The backs indicate there are 18 cards in the set. Those read as follows:
“Get a full set of 18 World’s Champions for 1910 to be had only with Williams’ wrapped bread admiral and potatoe brands.” At the very bottom of the backs is the name “Geiger Brothers, Newark, NJ”, which was presumably the manufacturer.
