1933 Worch Cigar Overview
Like the 1932 Worch Cigar set, the 1933 Worch Cigar cards again included black and white images with blank backs. At nearly 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ size, they were also the same size as the previous year. A thin white border is around the edges of photos.
The biggest difference between the two sets is that the 1932 issue featured a minor league team, the local Minneapolis Millers. The 1933 Worch set includes major leaguers. Aesthetically, the most interesting change in this release from the 1932 set is that there are no replica signatures. Instead, player names and teams appear on the fronts.
Some of the photos have minor variations as well. Some of the player names and teams are inside of a box while some are not.
The set is anchored by Yankees great, Babe Ruth. The photos were only available through the mail.
