W-UNC Shoulderless Players Strip Cards Overview
The W-UNC Shoulderless players strip card set is a unique issue. Cards feature portraits of players with their shoulders ‘cut off.’ Pictures are colorless and the backs of the cards are blank.
Cards are described as shoulderless since they feature a player’s head and neck area, but with sharply sloping shoulders giving the appearance that they do not have any.
New players are still being discovered so the checklist is not yet fully confirmed. Ty Cobb, one of the biggest cards in the set discovered to date, was just found in 2013. While baseball cards are the focal point of the set, the issue also includes actors.
The maker and means of distribution method is not known. Here are pictures of the entire set known to date.
