R315 Anonymous Overview
It isn’t known who printed the R315 Anonymous set. The cards are black and white and include four distinct types with slight variations. Two variations have the player’s name and team in a small white box while two others have the name printed directly onto the picture without a box.
They are believed to be printed at some point in the late 1920s or 1930s.
Numerous big names are included but the set is anchored by Yankees stars Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The set contains numerous typos, including several to big names such as Hall of Famers Rogers Hornsby (spelled Roger), Carl Hubbell (spelled Karl), and Fred Lindstrom (spelled Lindstorm).
You can see pictures of all of the cards here.
