R309-1 Goudey Premiums Overview
The 1933-34 R309-1 Goudey Premiums set included only a total of four cards. These were offered as a redemption item with a collector able to secure one by mailing in a total of 50 Goudey gum wrappers.
The cards included black and white photographs bordered by a decorative (print) gold colored frame. The backs had a small description of the photo and also a cardboard backing that could be used to stand the picture up. The photo cards measured a little smaller than 6″ x 9″ and a small nameplate was also printed at the bottom identifying the card in question.
Three of the four cards in the set were team issues with the fourth being a single photo of New York Yankees great Babe Ruth.
