Oilette / Raphael Tuck and Sons New England College Series Postcards Overview
These unique postcards were similar to other issues, such as the R. Hill ‘Rah Rah’ postcards produced around the same time period.
Each postcard featured a female fan or cheerleader for a particular school. However, instead of a full body shot of a woman holding a pennant, which was common in other postcard sets, the postcards featured closeup shots of them. The bottom has a cheer for each school.
Oilette and Raphael Tuck and Sons also had another issue featuring fans and cheers. This one, however, featured only New England area schools and was dubbed, “The New England College Series.”
Backs include a simple, traditional postcard layout with a divider line to separate the message from the recipient’s address.
