M. Greiner Basketball and Football Women Fans Postcards Overview

M. Greiner PostcardThis set of postcards featured a pair of female fans of basketball and football. While many different color variations are included, only two poses exist.

One features a woman facing to the right with a basketball scene behind her. The other features a woman looking to the left with a football scene in the background. The two pictures are the same throughout the set but the colors of the pennants the women are holding, as well as their apparel, changes. The colors of the players’ clothing in the background scenes also changes from postcard to postcard.

Backs have a standard postcard design with placement for a one-cent stamp as well as a divider line for the recipient’s address and the message.

An exact date of issue is not known for this set, but it appears to be from the early 1900. The postcards feature the artist name at the bottom of the images (M. Greiner).
