Anonymous College Girl Athletes Postcards Overview
These postcards featured various college girls playing sports. That they are participating in the games and not merely fans or cheerleaders as many other early 1900s issues is what makes this set a little different.
Color lithographs of the women are on the fronts but there are no other identifying marks. The backs are equally as cryptic with no company or artist information there, either. The backs are standard postcard backs with a divider line to separate the message from the recipient address.
Collectors should note that while this is not explicitly a college series, it is believed to feature women representing different schools. While it can be speculated which college they represent based on the colors, there is no firm identification printed on them.
