PC744 George Burke Postcards Overview
The PC744 George Burke postcards set includes various baseball players. A full checklist is not known. Postcards feature pictures by Burke, a famous photographer. Sepia style photos are on the fronts and the backs include the area for the sender to write his/her message and the recipient address.
The postcards spanned from 1938 through the 1950s so most were printed after what I consider the pre-war era. Still, many of these are very attractive images of older baseball players.
Collectors should note that these are easily misidentified. In addition, because Burke’s images were popular, they have been reprinted in later years. While they may have a vintage look, they are not necessarily originals.
Originals will generally have the RDM Studio name on them along with the 847 Belmont Avenue address in Chicago, IL, which was Burke’s address pictured here.
PC744 George Burke Postcards Checklist
Because the postcards spanned so many years and so many were produced, a checklist is not provided here.
