1937-38 V304-E O-Pee-Chee Overview
A total of five different sets have all been designated as V304 O-Pee-Chee cards. The Each set (series) has its own separate designation – V304-A, V304-B, V304-C, V304-D, and V304-E. These series designations are printed on the backs of the cards along with a card number.
At 48 cards, this (along with V304-A) is the largest subset in the entire V304 series. Cards are colorful with bold backgrounds, a black and white player image, and the player’s name. The name is on there only in the form of a replica signature, however. This is the only one of the five V304 sets that omitted a printed name on the front.
As in previous sets, several different background colors were used and players can be found with different ones, making a master set extremely difficult, even with a relatively short checklist. In addition to the series designation and card number, backs include bilingual biographies in English and French.
The die-cut design from the V304-D set was also removed as O-Pee-Chee went back to a more regular card.
