1930s Lion Brand Babe Ruth Movie Overview
Miniature action movies were popular in the 1930s. Goudey produced some of them and this one was a standalone issue featuring Hall of Famer Babe Ruth.
The movie was distributed by Lion Brand shirts, a clothing line established in the 1800s. Like other flip movies booklets, this one displayed a brief animated action clip when quickly flipped through by a collector.
A black and white image of Ruth is shown on the front and the print reads, “Lion Brand Presents: Babe Ruth in the ‘Home Run’ a miniature movie.” The back has the Lion Brand logo, stating the booklet is compliments of the company.
