1927-28 La Patrie Photos Overview

This set features various photographs of hockey players that were inserted into La Patrie, a Montreal newspaper, in 1927. The photos feature full-length shots and are difficult to find.

Howie Morenz, Georges Vezina, and Aurel Joliat headline this impressive release.

The pictures appear to have been taken in a studio. They are black and white with the player’s name at the bottom and the La Patrie name at the top. A black decorative border surrounds the images and in the lower right hand corner, the year (1927-28) is printed along with a photo number.

Photos were reportedly mostly shot by James Rice, a Montreal photographer. A total of 21 photos were in the set.
