PB4 Kolb’s Mothers Bread Pins Overview
The Kolb’s Mothers Bread pin set is a black and white issue produced in the 1920s.
The pins measure just under an inch in diameter and fronts feature black and white player photos. The players’ names and positions run along the bottom in black ink while the Kolb’s Mothers Bread name is at the top in red. The border around the pins is white. Only the player’s last name is featured on most, but a few have a first initial or first name as well.
The set features Reading minor league players but there are a couple of big names here. Most notably are Joe Kelley and manager Chief Bender – both Hall of Famers.
