Monthly Site Updates (September 2019)

Each month, content gets updated on the Pre-War Cards site. However, while you see the regular articles that are posted, plenty of stuff is always being added behind the scenes. Much of this has to do with the updating of set descriptions and checklists in the database and each month, I’ll be posting to alert you to stuff that has been added or updated from the previous month.
Here are the items added/updated from the past month.
News/Discoveries
And you thought August was calm.
The site was pretty quiet during September for a myriad of reasons. For one thing, college football is back and I actually do quite a bit of writing for that on a separate site so my time writing about cards shrunk quite a bit. For another, life has just been kind of hectic in general. October should see more activity around here.
From a news standpoint, not too much going on. It was revealed by the Blowout site that a lot of altered cards have made their way onto the COMC site. While that is newsworthy, I’m not sure how surprising it should really be. As we’re seeing on eBay, the threat of altered cards is out there in any marketplace, really.
A couple of things I did this month were related to T206. First, I looked at the Big Four of the T206 set and then I also recounted my journey in completing my own set. Oh, and half a T206 Ty Cobb card sold for $140.
