1939 Play Ball Cards Discovered

Finding two dozen baseball cards may not sound like a great score. However, when they’re pre-war cards of Hall of Famers – well, that’s another story.

A couple recently found (24) 1939 Play Ball cards in a relative’s old jewelry box. Among the cards? Some of the biggest players in the set, according to Forbes, including Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams. The Williams is considered by collectors to be his rookie card.

The cards were not in perfect condition and included tape residue/damage. Still, a nice find and some extra spending money for a couple scheduled to be married in 2017.
