1932 Lande Cigarettes Set Overview
This was one of many international tobacco card sets featuring movie stars. It was produced by for Lande Cigarettes, a German tobacco brand. These cards are not like many of the others in that they are exceedingly rare.
Cards are basic with black and white images and the actor or actress name at the bottom. Like several other movie star sets, boxer Max Schmeling found his way into the issue due to his immense popularity. This set is almost entirely a non-sports release but boxing fans do have an interest in it for Schmeling’s card. Schemling is No. 139 in the series.
Backs of the cards have the Lande Cigarettes logo.
Of note is that Lande also produced a premium set of silks of 200 actors and actresses in the same year as these cards. Schmeling, however, is not in that set.

The Schmeling card is the only sports issue in the set.
