Pritchard Yale Baseball Stamps Overview
The 1914 Pritchard Yale Baseball stamps is the second known set produced by the company in that year. They also printed a set of stamps featuring New York professional baseball players.
This set features 12 members of the Yale baseball team. Stamps may be found either separate or intact as one sheet, but they are incredibly rare in either case.
Each stamp includes a small black and white image of a player along with a Yale pennant and blue ink design, including baseballs and bats serving as a border.
Pritchard Yale Baseball Stamps Checklist
Below is a complete checklist of the set. Old Judge Auctions states that none of the players made it into prominence and only one, Peter Falsey, ever reached the major leagues. Even at that, Falsey’s career wasn’t long. He lasted only three games in 1914 and received only one at bat (which, according to Baseball-Reference, was a strikeout).
