R307 Baseball and College Design Pennants Overview
This relatively unknown set includes colorful, miniature pennants featuring the names of baseball teams and colleges. The set is identified by Jefferson Burdick as R307 in his American Card Catalog.
These are small pennants and similar to those found in the BF3 Pennants Set, which had some that utilized a similar design and style. One big difference between the two is that the BF3s included some pennants with names of individual players while this one strictly includes team and school names.
Presumably, the set includes pennants for every professional baseball team but it is unknown how many colleges are represented. The set is a weird combination of professional baseball and universities.
The exact date of the pennants isn’t known nor is the mode of distribution. They are classified as a gum/candy issue but the producer is not identified on the pennants. In addition, while it is believed the pennants were printed around 1935, the exact date is not known, either.
