Waner’s Baseball Game Cards Overview

1930s Waner Baseball Game Umpire CardThis game was produced by Waner’s Baseball, Inc., a company for former baseball brothers Paul Waner and Lloyd Waner.

This unique game included a deck of 61 cards and was actually played using two baseball fields at the same time. Game pieces and instructions/score sheets were also included.

The cards featured mostly only printed actions to dictate play using red and black ink. Backs of the cards were printed in blue ink and had a unique decorative design featuring a baseball in the middle.

The box featured portrait shots of each player and a cartoon baseball scene inside of a stadium. The cards had printed actions on them that players would use to dictate game play. Two different types of cards were included – offensive and defensive.

The exact date of the set is unknown but is believed to have been issued in the late 1920s or the 1930s.
