1906 R. Hill Rah Rah University Series Postcards Overview

s-l400This series featured various women serving as fans of college sports teams. Football is the sport generally associated with these types of sets since other fan postcard issues that were similar have pictures of footballs as part of the artwork.

Each postcard includes a female fan with a pennant, cheering on her team. The bottoms have ‘Rah Rah,’ in addition to the name of the school printed. They are numbered and part of the University Series copyrighted by R. Hill, as mentioned on the fronts.

Similar to other fooball fan postcards produced in the era, some are found with glitter on the woman’s apparel while others are not.

Backs include a simple, traditional postcard layout with a divider line to separate the message from the recipient’s address.
