1936 Player’s Championship Golf Courses Set Overview
This set was issued by Player and Sons Tobacco, an Imperial Tobacco brand. Cards were distributed in the company’s Player’s Cigarettes packages. It was one of many tobacco card sets produced by Player’s in the 1930s.
Instead of players, the cards featured cartoon aerial maps of popular golf courses. Fronts of the card pictured a layout of a particular course and the back discussed the course as well as a few key holes.
The cards have a different look than many tobacco cards of the era, which were narrow. These, by contrast, were more like a square.
