241. Field Aerial View Trade Card Overview

241 Trade Card.jpgThis was a trade card that promoted a hair tonic product.

The card served as an advertisement for Tonique de Luxe. Slogans on the card read, “Best for the Hair,” “The Winner of All Hair Tonics,” and “The Liquid Head Rest.” Those slogans are printed on the fencing of a baseball stadium. The card has a unique aerial-style view, picturing the field from overhead.

Only green and blank ink were used in this two-color trade card.

This card was numbered separately by noted trade card collector Frank Keetz in his book, “Baseball Advertising Trade Cards, 3rd Edition.” It was a trade card he identified but did not have a printed title on it. Because of that, he catalogued it with a number instead, which is the number in the title shown here.
