1931/1932 Doble Aguila / E. Quintana Overview
The Doble Aguila / E. Quintana issue is a Venezuelan tobacco set that featured baseball and other sports, such as boxing.
While the set is most commonly referred to as the Doble Aguila set, the cards can be found with back advertisements for E. Quintana as well.
The fronts of the cards included black and white images with a clean black border. At the bottom was a card number as well as a brief description of the subject(s) pictured.
As stated earlier, backs had either an advertisement for Doble Aguila or E. Quintana. Roughly translated, the tops on the backs stated that the cards were a gift from those two cigarette companies. The back then had a description of the action on the from of the cards.
The set includes several cards of Hall of Famer Martin Dihigo, who played in the Negro Leagues, Cuban League, Mexican League, and Venezuelan League.
