Waist Ball Trade Card Overview
This is a trade card featuring an odd baseball scene.
Pictured here is a group of four players, all with their own odd characteristics. A pitcher is preparing to throw but facing away from the plate. A female batter is shown brandishing a broom instead of a bat at the tin pan plate. A catcher is waiting for the pitch while wearing a cage over his face to serve as a mask. Finally, a fielder is in the background wearing a Chinese style hat with a branch sticking out of it.
The term, “Waist Ball” is printed on the card. This particular card also has printing for Muggs Landing. It is unknown if this was a card purely for that entity or if other names were printed on it.
