Police Gazette Cabinets Overview
While some pre-war collectors can tell you about the M128 Police Gazette Supplements, less know about the publication’s cabinet cards.
The Police Gazette cabinet cards were produced sometime in the late 1880s or early 1890s. Like other cabinet issues, they featured a picture that was mounted onto a cardboard backing.
The cabinets featured sepia-toned photographs mounted onto a slick black background, similar to what the smaller, unmounted N300 Mayo cards looked like. The backs are blank and entirely black.
