H804-27 Twelvetrees Trade Cards Overview
This set is part of the baseball comic series of trade cards. Noted collector Frank Keetz assigned it the designation used in his book, “Baseball Advertising Trade Cards 3rd Edition.”
The cards feature a variety of humorous baseball scenes with children. In addition to a full-color picture, each card also has a brief caption. Cards were apparently printed by Wolf and Company, whose name is on the cards. They are dubbed the Twelvetrees set as that is name on the copyright, which is also printed on each card.
Unlike some other trade cards, advertisements are not commonly printed on the fronts of these. Instead, you usually will only find them on the backs.
As is the case with most trade cards, these are fragile and printed on thinner card stock. For that reason, they can be torn or ripped quite easily and damaged easier than standard baseball cards.
