1931-59 W709 Chicago Cubs Pictures and Postcards Overview
For many years, the Chicago Cubs printed a series of pictures, and postcards. The series was known as W709 in the American Card Catalog despite the fact that it included numerous sets over a variety of years.
While most of the series came after the pre-war era, a few of the early sets were produced prior to 1940. The series includes 1931 and 1932 issues before picking up again in 1941.
According to Jefferson Burdick, sets of pictures were produced in the following years: 1931, 1932, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, and 1945. After that, a series of postcards were produced from 1955 through 1959.
