1923-24 Cigarros Tomas Gutierrez (Tomas Gutierrez Cigarettes) Overview

The Tomas Gutierrez Cigarettes issue was a collection of Cuban baseball players. The cards feature black and white images on the front along with the player’s name, team, and position in the top and bottom border areas. The back includes a card number ofr easy cataloguing as well as an advertisement.

In Spanish, the advertisement explains that a person collecting the entire set could redeem them for an album with pictures of the cards.

These cards are incredibly rare but at least one complete set exists. It was graded by SGC and sold for nearly $60,000 in 2014.

While 85 cards are generally expected to be in this release, to date, only 84 are known with Card No. 84 not surfacing. Because a No. 85 does exist, however, I have stated that there are 85 cards as shown at the top of this page.
