We Lead but Never Follow Trade Card Overview
This is a trade card promoting different entities.
The card includes a strange scene of an elephant charging through a field and a small group of people. It is holding a baseball bat in its trunk with the caption, “We Lead but Never Follow.”
The elephant also has a large banner draped over it, which is where an advertiser could print or stamp his company-specific information. This card shown here features an advertisement for The Great China and Pacific Tea Company. However, I am unsure if this card was exclusive to them or used for other businesses as well.
A small identifying No. 136 is also printed in the lower left corner.
