Bases Cleaned Trade Card Overview
This is a trade card that was used to promote an election.
The card serves as an advertisement for four men running for office – Hannin, Durrett, Wallace, and Arthur Martin. The card has a decided baseball theme. It uses baseball metaphors to declare the men defeating their opponents (i.e. Hannin hit past Washington).
Drawings of a pitcher and fielder are shown on the card that used only red ink. The bottom declares that four runs were scored on four hits and no errors for a 4-0 victory.
The header of the card reads, ‘Bases Cleaned!’
