D351 Grennan Bakery Overview

The D351 Grennan Bakery set is a rare issue containing what is believed to be ten cards. The set is sometimes called the Grennan Baking issue but Jefferson Burdick called it Grennan Bakery in his American Card Catalog.

The description in that book gives a small bit of insight to the cards. He called it an issue of ‘Baseball’s Ten Most Famous Plays.’

The cards feature a picture of a cartoon diagram of a particular baseball play in the history of the sport until that time. They also have a short description of what happened on that particular play. The cards were printed using only blue ink and are blank on the back.

Printing dates for the cards are unknown. However, based on the plays of the known cards, which date to the 1920s, the set is believed to have been printed in the late 1920s or early 1930s.

D351 Grennan Bakery Checklist

The entire checklist to this date is unknown as only a few of the cards have been found. The set is believed to contain ten cards based on the title printed on the cards (Baseball’s 10 Most Famous Plays).
