1928 Contiero Set with Babe Ruth Overview
This set, issued or produced by ‘T. Contiero’ is an Italian release that included famous actors. The card features the legendary Babe Ruth along with actor Harold Lloyd.
The picture is from the movie ‘Speedy’, in which both Ruth and Lloyd starred. The front features a color picture of the two actors in suits holding a baseball bat. The ‘T. Contiero’ name is printed in the upper right hand corner and a card number, No. 18, in the upper left.
The card is also similar to one issued in the Josetti, Jasmatzi Ramses, and Sulima sets. One of the major differences, however, is the caption on the front along withe black borders on this issue.
The front reads, translated from Italian, “Harold Lloyd and baseball champion Babe Ruth.”
