1912 Burke and Atwell Boston Red Sox Al Traver Cafe Restaurant Trade Card Overview
This trade card was copyrighted by Burke and Atwell in 1912, celebrating the World Series champion Boston Red Sox.
The front of the includes a team photograph with some players seated and others standing. Names of the players are printed at the bottom. The back includes an advertisement for Al. Traver Cafe Restaurant and Bowling Alley in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The restaurant was located at 281 Main Street and was called the ‘Headquarters for All Sporting Events.’ Text on the back of the card was printed in a dark blue ink.
it should be noted that while the picture on the front is printed in color, only very limited color is used. At first glance, it almost appears to be a black and white issue save for the light green color at the bottom.
