202. Six Boys Playing Trade Card Overview
This is a trade card that featured a children’s scene.
The card is only nominally a baseball issue. The picture shows six children playing a game (actually, two are shown actively involved with four onlookers) of marbles. On the ground is a pair of baseball bats and a ball as the boys are potentially preparing for that game next.
The full color picture has mostly a rural setting. A large field serves as the backdrop with a house in the distance.
This card was numbered separately by noted trade card collector Frank Keetz in his book, “Baseball Advertising Trade Cards, 3rd Edition.” It was a trade card he identified but did not have a printed title on it. Because of that, he catalogued it with a number instead, which is the number in the title shown here.
